Pop-Up Zoom Workshop: Notes for Screenwriters

The best notes don't tell you what to write.
They help you discover what's really not working.

Every screenwriter hears the same notes.

"Show, don't tell."
"Your dialogue is on the nose."
"The protagonist is passive."
"Raise the stakes."
"I can't hear your voice."

But what do those notes actually mean?

And more importantly...

What question should you be asking yourself when you hear them?

That's what this workshop is about.

We'll unpack the notes writers receive over and over again, translate what readers are really telling you, and learn how professional writers diagnose the problem instead of simply rewriting the note.

This isn't a lecture.

It's an interactive workshop.

We'll look at real pages, give real notes, and break down exactly why those notes are being given, and how to fix the underlying issue without losing your voice.

Want feedback on your script?

Submit up to 5 pages of your screenplay or TV pilot before the workshop. Five pages are more than enough to uncover what's working, what's not, and where your rewrite should begin. I'll select pages to discuss live, giving you the opportunity to hear not only the notes, but the thinking behind them.

Your first pages are your audition as a writer.

Let's make them impossible to put down.

📍 Live on Zoom
🗓️ Wednesday, July 8 • 7:00 PM ET

Whether you're preparing for fellowships, contests, staffing opportunities, or your next rewrite, you'll leave with a completely different way of hearing notes—and a practical process for turning them into stronger pages.
